Euonymus japonicus Instant Hedging is an evergreen plant which is also known by the common names of ‘Evergreen Spindle’ or ‘Japanese Spindle’ These plants have a medium sized dark green glossy leaves, which will act as a great back drop to colourful perennial flowers. It is fantastically resistant to salt and wind which is why you will often see it planted in coastal locations. It is also very resistant to atmospheric pollution so it is great planted in urban environments. They are tolerant of full sun and shade and will also grow very happily on chalky soil as well as all other soil types.
With regular trimming Euonymus japonicus Instant hedging can be used as a low border edge to give structure to a garden. If allowed to grow it will also make an excellent hedge that is around 120cm to 150cm tall and will still be dense.
