Description
Common Laurel (Prunus lau. Rotundifolia) evergreen hedge, also known as Cherry Laurel, is a fast growing plant. It is a good general all round hedging plant suitable for planting in any situation and is capable of producing a great screen anywhere. It is one of the few evergreens that is tolerant of really heavy shade and water drips from any overhanging trees. If left to grow naturally it will attain a height of nearly 600cm and almost the same in width.
Common Laurel (Prunus lau. Rotundifolia) evergreen hedge is especially useful as a sound proofing hedge as the large leaves allow the sound to be trapped and muted within the plant. It is also very good at helping to trap atmospheric particles. As this hedge is so quick growing it can occasionally get out of control but it is one of the few plants that can be cut very had back and will start to sprout again afterwards and will very quickly be a good and more compact screen again.
